I am so proud to be saying: 'we did it and it feels great!'. It is not something one does on a daily basis, but my word, what an amazing feeling!!!

I remained focused throughout the run, however, there were moments when I couldn't help but feel sad: reading the messages / dedications on the runners' vests; seeing the man on the other side of the road running on springs, as his legs had been amputated; feeling the generousity of the public; hearing the crowds cheer us on; simply being part of the action.
The run was much better than I had imagined, though it certainly was not 'easy'! You soon realise it has a lot to do with concentration and determination to finish the 26.2 miles. It was a welcome sign when I saw the Tate Modern as we appeared from the tunnel. I knew we were not far away from Westminster and the finishing line. It did seem never ending at the final stretch as there were signs indicating: 800 meters to go / 400 meters to go, etc, and that is when I felt like walking! It was down to my persistence that I continued running to the finishing line - what a feeling!! I only started to feel the pain in the legs when I finally stopped, and then I had to step up for the lady to cut of my tracking time tag on my shoe lace - it was almost impossible!
I am feeling very old together as my leg muscles are asking what I have done to them! I know with a lot of rest and continued healthy eating I will be back to normal soon. For now, there will be no cycling for at least a week, so bus pass (very expensive!!) here I come.
Thanks again to you all for your kind support along this incredible journey. Fundraising was the hardest challenge as I am not one for asking when it comes to money, but we all made it happen! The amount raised so far is: £1,520.87p! That is fantastic as Mental Health Foundation is not a large charity so every donation means a lot to them. It was a pleasure meeting the charity members at their after-marathon event.
I am feeling slightly sad that this is the last marathon entry :( ....... unless I decide to continue with more in the future ;)
